Alright, for those in need, I'm offering sections of webspace.

With my hosting you'll get a full cpanel account. Deref is currently using one of these, which has:

Unlimited FTP accounts
Unlimited Mail accounts
Unlimited Parked/Addon domains
Unlimited Subdomains
Unlimited MySQL databases
Unlimited Postgre databases
Addon/Parked domains within reason. 15 default each, more [free] with justification.

Pricing is based off space/bw[per month] you're looking for.
OLD PRICING:
1000MB space / 10000MB bw will be $7/month, or $70 yearly.
600MB space / 6000MB bw will be $4/month, or $40 yearly.
300MB space / 3000MB bw will be $2.50/month, or $25 yearly.
100MB space / 1000MB bw will be $15 yearly.

NEW PRICING:
7000MB space, 100000MB bw will be $18/mo, or $200 yearly.
5000MB space, 50000MB bw will be $14/mo, or $160 yearly.
2000MB space, 30000MB bw will be $7/mo, or $70 yearly.
1000MB space, 15000MB bw will be $5/mo, or $50 yearly.
700MB space, 10000MB bw will be $4/mo, or $40 yearly.
500MB space, 5000MB bw will be $2.50/mo, or $25 yearly.
300MB space, 3000MB bw will be $15/year

Custom amounts of space/bw avail, just ask.

If anyone's looking for something without a domain name, I'll offer up a subdomain (which is what sfmb.gamerspage.com is).

Domains through me are $10/year for .com/net/org. Otherwise, I can provide a subdomain of either gamerspage.com or gamerspage.net. Feel free to use any registrar you like.

I accept almost any method of payment. The fastest method is Paypal, free for US payments, and additional fee paypal charges me for international payments applies.

Server:
2 x dual core Intel Xeon 5130 [Woodcrest, 2.0GHz, 4M L2]
4GB RAM
2 physical drives in raid 1
Daily backups
Located in AtlantaNAP

Update: All new prices
:D

:D

the $15 dollar a year 50mb space account is cool too... for people who don't wanna run dungeons and mb's and *looks around shifty eyed* anyway... Gamer does a damn fine job of hosting and I know a few of you could certainly use some NON adcluttered space for your creative stuff, or hell even just a family webpage. He helped me and I was wandering around sans clue. So if you have questions feel free to ask away.

It sounds good... I've been thinking of getting more webspace for a different purpose (politics, etc.), one that could support a decent message board like the one here and PPMB. Would the 50MB do that?

The 50MB package would be a stretch, particularly because MB's tend to be bandwidth hungry.

A board the size of the SFMB needs 4-5GB/mo bandwidth.

Now, to start, you can try the 50MB and we can always work something out when you need more.

Folks, this is a kickass offer. I can't recommend Gamer's hosting too highly. It's the best deal I've ever had. You're crazy if you don't take him up on the offer.

I may end up taking you up on the offer sometime this summer. I'm currently not even using half of my domain space so I don't really need to pay the $9 monthly for the domain and the space, especially while in college. Of course, if I do get my comic up and making a profit, I may take ya up on one of the more expensive options.

I'm also eyeing the 150MB. $25 per year, whoo!

http://htmlgoodies.com/ <--I used that page to learn HTML when I was 13. ANYONE can learn if I can. I program all my HTML in Notepad without the aid of dreamweaver or anything.

Alright! Looks like I'm to spend portions of time there before considering a space of Internet to buy...

So how does that work if you want to have a domain name? Do we have to register it somehow or do you do it?

We'd be able to update directly, right? We wouldn't have to do some kind of thing where we have to send it to you to have posted?

How hard is it to set up/run an arrangement like Thea has here- a place for fics and a MB? I'm thinking of hosting my own HP site (I'm getting sick of Fiction Alley). My html/computer skills are severly lacking, though.

Right now I have a free Delphi MB, which is fine, but I prefer this MB set-up. Been thinking about hosting some fics as well. But if that requires good puter skills, I'd be happy just running the MB.

Thanks.

It's really easy, guys. I have one domain and one subdomain here, and I have complete control over them. The problem is that, right now, Gamer seems to be uncontactable to help with the Boards' problems. :-(

My father is interested in signing up, but he has a question that I think might turn him away from here:

Basically, for his current site: He's been using Homestead as his webhosting and webpage building. He knows nothing of HTML and despite my attempts to tell him about HTMLgoodies.com, he doesn't want to learn. Are there any free apps out there that would let him just "drag-and-drop" pictures onto a page he's building?

Open Office is excellent. You can use the word processor (or any other part of it) and just build pages as if you were creating a WP document, but it'll save them as very good HTML

Seamonkey (the old Mozilla) is also excellent for creating web pages easily without having to do any coding, yet producing good HTML output.

As well as the above options, I can also provide PSOFT Site Studio http://sitestudio.demo.psoft.net:8081/demo for $1.50/month (Actual cost to me).

Also included with every package is fantastico, which contains numbers applications. The nearest thing to a site-builder included is templates express, which provides a large number of templates that can be downloaded and modified.
