Found this on DeviantArt. Okay, you put your music makin' device on shuffle and press "forward" for each question and the title answers it even if it doesn't make sense. Sound fun? Okay. Here goes.

How are you feeling today?
The Goo Goo Dolls - "Iris"
<whiskey tango foxtrot, Batman?>

Will you get far in life?
Panic! At the Disco - "Lying is the Most Fun a Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off"
<I'll get naked?>

How do your friends see you?
Maroon 5 - "Through With You"
<bitches!>

Will you get married?
Switchfoot - "Meant To Live"
<guess that's a yes>

What is your best friend's theme song?
James Blunt - "You're Beautiful"
<Okay, I'm sort of embarassed that I have to admit I have this song on my iPod, it's just one of those ones where it gets stuck in my head and I have to listen to it to make it go away. That said, I wanna be my best friend. That's a good one to come up.>

What is the story of your life?
Trapt - "Echo"
<Actually, pretty accurate.>

What was high school like?
The Goo Goo Dolls - "Slide"
<Why is this even on my list? I almost never listen to it all the way through.>

How can you get ahead in life?
Maroon 5 - "Tangled"
<This is about dumping a girl because you fucked up her life. Soo using people?>

What is the best thing about your friends?
Panic! At the Disco - "Nails for Breakfast, Tacks for Snacks"
<My friends are existentialists!>

What is in store for this weekend?
John Mayer - "Your Body is a Wonderland"
<this one's on my iPod cuz I like listening to it during happy, slow, fun sex. I really doubt that'll happen this weekend unfortunately. I hate the Pacific Ocean>

To describe your grandparents?
Panic! At the Disco - "Camisado"
<My grandparents like to dance? Or uh, something? What's this song even about?>

How is your life going?
Green Day "Homecoming/The Death of St. Jimmy/East 12th St./Nobody Likes You/Rock and Roll Girlfriend/We're Coming Home Again"
<This needs an explanation. This song is off their concept album. I like the first few parts. But man, nobody likes me and I'm coming home again. Shut up! No fair being right!>

What song will they play at your funeral?
Matchbox 20 - "Damn"
<Not really a funeral song, but the title could mean people will miss me.>

How does the world see you?
Blink-182 - "Dysentary Gary"
<...this is even MORE ironic if you've heard the song. "Got a lot of heartache/He's a fucking weasel..." it's about a guy who's in love with a girl who's in love with a jackass>

Will you have a happy life?
Stone Sour - "Through Glass"
<guess that's a 'no'>

What do your friends really think of you?
Maroon 5 - "The Sun"
<That works. The title is good, but so is the chorus. "But I cannot forget/Refuse to regret/So glad I met you and/Take my breath away/Make every day/Worth all of the pain that I have gone through.">

Do people secretly lust after you?
My Chemical Romance - "Helena"
<Ermmm...is that a yes?>

How can I make myself happy?
Panic! At the Disco - "Time to Dance"
<Dancing makes everything okay>

What should you do with your life?
Maroon 5 - "Sweetest Goodbye"
<dunno. Write your own damn commentary>

Will you ever have children?
Jimmy Gnecco - "Someone to Die For"
<That probably means yes>

I won't post all mine here, because I seriously doubt anyone cares and most didn't make sense, but I just had to mention this one.

What is in store for this weekend?
Cake - "Daria"

So does that mean I'll be watching "Daria" episodes this weekend, or eating cake? Maybe both. At the same time. Sounds like a win-win situation to me.

375 potential answers to all of life's mysteries...

How are you feeling today?
Redneck Jokes- Blue Collar Tour

I guess I'm feeling like a redneck. Hee.

Will you get far in life?
Storms in Africa- Enya

Is this some weird allusion to Chaos Theory?

How do your friends see you?
We Care A Lot- Faith No More

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!

Will you get married?
Nothing Without You- Bebo Norman

That makes sense. Kinda.

What is your best friend's theme song?
Good Enough- Evanescence

That sounds a little insulting.

What is the story of your life?
Y.M.C.A- The Village People

Yep, the story of my life is hanging out with strange young men at the YMCA.

What was high school like?
Tear In Your Hand- Tori Amos

That's eerily accurate.

How can you get ahead in life?
Silent Lucidity- Queensryche

Be quiet and pay attention, I suppose. Or learn telepathy.

What is the best thing about your friends?
Kyrie- Mr. Mister

Uh, their faith? I have no idea on this one.

What is in store for this weekend?
Going Under- Evanescence

Oh, that's not good. I'm flying out to NJ. I hope this isn't a bad omen or soemthing. Maybe it's just I'llbe sad because I'll be all by myself.

To describe your grandparents?
Hallelujah- Rufus Wainwright

Um, the song is actually very sad, mostly about how the singer knows the subject doesn't really care for him. Wait, that kind of makes sense. That and most of my grandparents are deceased.

How is your life going?
Hello- Evanescence

Um, hi.

What song will they play at your funeral?
Everybody Hurts- R.E.M

Also eerily appropriate.

How does the world see you?
Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy- Big and Rich

BWAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Will you have a happy life?
Let's Get Rocked- Def Leppard

Well the kid in the song seems to be having a good time.

What do your friends really think of you?
The Longships- Enya.

Um...... what?

Do people secretly lust after you?
American Woman- Lenny Kravitz

Apparently so.

How can I make myself happy?
Lithium- Evanescence

Oh, Lord, that's too funny.

What should you do with your life?
Not Ready to Make Nice- Dixie Chicks

Apparently forgiving people isn't in the cards.

Will you ever have children?
I Drove All Night- Cyndi Lauper

Well the song is about how she went to go sleep with a guy, which could lead to kids. Or it could mean I drove all night to get the baby to fall asleep.

This was an unnerving experience--maybe only for the same reason that people can read random horoscopes and feel they're about them specifically, but it was still unnerving.

= = = = = = = = =

How are you feeling today?
Leonard Cohen--"The Guests"

Quote:
One by one
The guests arrive,
The guests are coming through,
The broken hearted many,
The open hearted few.
And no one knows where the night is going
And no one knows where the wine is flowing
Ah, Love, I need you, I need you...

Yeah, that's about right.

Will you get far in life?
Robert Wyatt--"Free Will and Testament"

Quote:
Given will free but within certain limitations
I cannot will myself to limitless mutation
I cannot know what I would be if I were not me
I can only guess me

Damn, this is making a lot of sense.

How do your friends see you?
Half Japanese--"House of Voodoo"

Quote:
Up on a hill
There is a house
Up on a hill
There is a house made out of stone
I live in House of Voodoo!
I live in a House of Stone!
I live in House of Voodoo!

Of course, the scary backing instrumentals make the song.

Will you get married?
Hank Williams--"I Ain't Got Nothing But Time"

Quote:
Just give me a ring
Some joy I will bring
'Cause I ain't got nothing but time
Well, I ain't got nothing but time
So baby if you want to shine,
If take time to look,
My number's in the book
And you can call me anytime.

This is getting frightening. Image

What is your best friend's theme song?
The Fugue in G minor from Book 2 of The Well-Tempered Clavier as played by Glenn Gould.

Very frightening, because Glenn Gould is Suzy Creemcheeze's favorite pianist. The WTC isn't her fave, but the key of the fugue is significant--any of the Goldberg Variations would have nailed it, all of which are in G major or G minor.

Image Image Image

What is the story of your life?
Carmen McRae--"You Know Who/I Mean You" (Theolonious Monk)

Quote:
You Know Who
I Mean You
You did the dirt
I Mean You
One look and I got hurt.

Ouch. This thing can read my mind, knows I'm doing this quiz and is fucking with me big time.

Image

(Note to self: do not buy the iPhone. It will probably call people for me when it decides I need to talk to them.)

What was high school like?
Mars--"3E"

From an anthology of early NY Punk I've listened to maybe once. Can't make out the lyrics. Maybe that's the point.

How can you get ahead in life?
Johnny Cash--"The Beast in Me" (Nick Lowe)

Quote:
The Beast in me
Has had to learn to live with pain
And how to shelter from the rain
And in the twikling of an eye
Might have to be restrained
God help the best in me

Image

What is the best thing about your friends?
"Knoxville, Summer of 1915," for soprano solo and orchestra, music by Samuel Barber, text by James Agee. Leontyne Price, soprano, doesn't list the orchestra or conductor and I can't remember who they are.

One of my favorite pieces of music. Absolutely, totally heartbreaking at its climax:

Quote:
By some chance, here they are, all on this earth; and who shall ever tell the sorrow of being on this earth, lying, on quilts, on the grass, in a summer evening, among the sounds of the night?

What is in store for this weekend?
Hank Williams--"Fool About You"

I have a very bad feeling about this one.

To describe your grandparents?
"In the wood, right in a grove, there is a lake," from Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk, music by Dmitri Shostakovich, libretto by Preis & Shostakovich. M. Rostropovich, conductor, Ambrosian Opera Chorus, London Philharmonic.

The scene leading up to the climax where the leading lady drowns herself and her husband's new lover. It makes sense to me.

Side note: this is the work that got Shostakovich in trouble with Stalin.

How is your life going?
Mazurka No 3, F# minor, Frederic Chopin (Martha Argerich, piano)

It makes sense.

What song will they play at your funeral?
Frank Zappa--"Filthy Habits"

Neat piece of music. Too bad I won't be able to hear it!

How does the world see you?
The Fall--"Winter"

No clue. And I could never make out what Mark E. Smith is singing.

Will you have a happy life?
The Doors--"The Crystal Ship"

No idea what this one means.

What do your friends really think of you?
"Exercise #4" from The Yellow Shark for chamber orchestra, Frank Zappa. Peter Rundel, Ensemble Modern.

Again, no idea.

Do people secretly lust after you?
"Folk Dance" (Act 2, Scene 3) from Romeo and Juliet, Sergei Prokofiev (complete ballet, not the suite) Seiji Ozawa, BSO.

I'm not digging out the liner notes to see what's happening in this scene. I suspect it would indicate the answer is no.

How can I make myself happy?
Finale, Symphony No. 4 F minor, Ralph Vaughan Williams. Malcolm Sargent, BBC Symphony.

Another fave, but controlled rage rather than eloquent despair ("Knoxville, Summer of 1915") Seems to tie in with "The Beast in Me" above.

What should you do with your life?
The Replacements--"Dose of Thunder"

I can hardly make out the lyrics here. Again, maybe that's the point.

Will you ever have children?
Pink Floyd--"Outside the Wall"

I think that's a no. I hope it is, at least.

Actually, reviewing the lyrics of that song, might I suggest a nice comfortable stay in bed... for the entire weekend?

Cake wrote:
I won't be soothed.

Ya know... just a suggestion...

This is too funny. When you have a single Trance mix, 17 hours long, you get the same answer every time.

take every question and answer them with this: 'Ein bisschen, haben Sie noch' Various DJs form all over Europe, Trance channel, DI.FM

Seasons of Love--Rent

What is your best friend's theme song?
Relax--Frankie Goes to Hollywood (heh heh heh)

What should you do with your life?
Luck be a Lady--Guys and Dolls (become a gambler...so I can buy stuff)

Thank you. I keep meaning to fix it in my system.
