50 or less: Thanks for answering honestly. Now get yourself a shrink, quick!
51-70: When it comes to understanding human emotions, you'd have better luck understanding Chinese.
71-90: You've got more emotional intelligence than the average frat boy. Barely.
91-110: You're average. It's easy to predict how you'll react to things. But anyone could have guessed that.
111-130: You usually have it going on emotionally, but roadblocks tend to land you on your butt.
131-150: You are remarkable when it comes to relating with others. Only the biggest losers get under your skin.
150+: Two possibilities - you've either out "Dr. Phil-ed" Dr. Phil... or you're a dirty liar.

What's Your EQ (Emotional Intelligence Quotient)?

Hmmmm. I got very different (much lower) results last time I took one of these 5 years ago. Guess the therapy is working!

140.

Haven't tortured or killed anyone... yet. Still, I look at the sliding board and think dark thoughts about how to use it in a very unpleasant fashion...

Thank God I know how to laugh at the world.

93.

Not that surprising. At least I'm still within "average", anyway.

If I was more sensitive, I might be offended.

About 127, although I was looking for the 'Neither' button on some of the questions.

What effect is EIQ supposed to have anyway? IQ's supposed to be cleverness, higher IQ being a state of higher ... ... cleverness levels, but I have no idea what IEQ's supposed to do.

Two options on each question, with the effect each will have on the final score being fairly obvious, doesn't make for the most reliable test. Then again, I find IQ to be BS anyway, so I don't really care.

EQ is how well you understand your own emotions and the emotions of others. It's a measure of empathy, I suppose.

the way things were going here I thought there was a comp to get the low score.

I thought you were winning, but I scanned through & saw that Ms Kitty has taken an impressive lead. :D

I can't even finish this damn test, two options for each question, how damn unrealistic can you get... THERE'S GREY AREAS FOLKS!

Seriously, lots of the options would be neither of my reactions.

Can't even answer the first question. I will say that like Angelinhel, I understand quite a bit, and I can certainly empathize with most situations, but nine times out of ten, I don't care

Yay, I'm average (93):

Quote:
You're average. It's easy to predict how you'll react to things. But anyone could have guessed that.

You're a bit moody, and sometimes you have trouble coping with every day life.
But you're by no means depressed, and your good days definitely out number your bad days.

There's nothing really wrong with your life, but you may not be living up to your actual potential.
Negative emotions can be a real drain of your energy, so make sure you have them under control.

I retook the test - and eight years later, my score rises to 147 (from my 2006 score of 140). Dealing with children helps increase the power of understanding based on emotions only.

I started taking this quiz, but found most of the questions didn't have choices I would pick... my world is not that black and white. So instead of leaving answers blank, I just quit.

So, did I get the high score, or is that a zero? :o

Yeah, I had trouble answering some of these either because in some situations, I don't care, or that there wasn't a more fitting answer to choose.

Your EQ is 113

Image

You usually have it going on emotionally, but roadblocks tend to land you on your butt.

On an average day, you're quite happy, together, and content. You live your life well.
Your emotions aren't always stable, but you can go along with the ups and downs pretty well.

You tend to be motivated, energetic, focused, and level headed.
You see the world pretty rationally, and you don't tend to over dramatize things. When things are bad, you know they eventually have to get better.

:violin: I think the real question you should be asking is "Have you been diagnosed with BPD? For that matter, have I?"
